The Story Behind UKSEOGUY
My first experience building websites dates back to 1999, when I created a site for the family travel business. From there I gradually began teaching myself more about websites, hosting and online marketing, offering website design to friends and local businesses as word of mouth grew.
In the early days I worked primarily with simple page builders before gradually moving into WordPress, which became the platform I used for most projects as my experience developed.
Between 2013 and 2021 I worked full time in the web hosting industry, gaining extensive experience in how websites are built, maintained and managed. During this time I continued designing websites for businesses on the side, many of which began ranking well in search thanks to strong content and on-page optimisation.
Clients soon started asking how to expand their visibility further, which led me to begin submitting their businesses to directories and local listings. What began as a simple way to improve local visibility gradually evolved into my first SEO services.
The Start of UKSEOGUY
In 2018 I joined Fiverr and quickly noticed a gap in the market. Many SEO sellers were based overseas, yet a large number of UK businesses were looking for someone closer to home. I branded my services as UKSEOGUY, positioning myself as a UK-based SEO freelancer focused on practical search strategies.
The early services focused on directory submissions and Google map citations for local businesses. As demand grew, so did the range of services offered.
In 2020 I launched my own UK contextual link building service, which remains one of the most popular services in the portfolio today. Over time the offering expanded further to include broader link building strategies, Google News backlinks and Google Stacking for local search visibility.

Growing the SEO Services Portfolio
SEO is constantly evolving, and keeping up with new developments has always been a key part of the work I do. I spend time following search industry updates and testing new approaches before introducing them as services.
Over the years I’ve experimented with dozens of potential strategies. Some showed promise but didn’t deliver meaningful results, and those were quickly dropped. I only offer services that demonstrate consistent performance, because if something doesn’t genuinely work it’s not worth my clients’ investment or my time.
More recently this approach has led to the introduction of Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) services designed to help websites appear in AI-driven search results, alongside the addition of WordPress on-page SEO, which has produced strong ranking improvements for many sites.
From Freelancer to Small Team
In March 2022 I was awarded Top Rated Seller status on Fiverr, and shortly afterwards made the decision to move into SEO full time.
That same year my partner Louise joined the business part time, helping support the growing number of projects. By 2024 she had moved into the role full time, primarily focusing on link building work and campaign support.
Today UKSEOGUY operates as a small team, with additional assistance from a virtual assistant when needed. Despite the growth, I remain the primary point of contact for clients and continue to handle the strategic and technical aspects of the work, including Google Stacking, on-page SEO and Generative Engine Optimisation.

Since launching UKSEOGUY, I’ve completed more than 14,000 SEO projects for businesses across a wide range of industries. This experience has helped refine the services offered and build a portfolio of strategies that consistently improve search visibility and rankings.

In 2024 this growth was recognised by Fiverr when the business surpassed $1 million in revenue on the platform, a milestone that reflects the scale of work delivered and the long-term trust built with clients.
